good luck white rabbit

i decided to get a little bit creative after one of my exams and the product is the graphite sketch of a key above. usually i do not have very much time to sit and draw, but after this particular exam i had about half an hour to wait. so i took the time to draw a key i happened to have with me. this made me realise how much i missed drawing, so a day or two later i sat down at home to draw this old swiss clock that i like to wear on a long chain. it reminds me of the clock that the white rabbit from alice in wonderland carries around...

The *Breathing Room

*to inhale air

Not at all like others,
no comforting space in which to sigh...
always probing, always nagging,
always active in my mind.

Shut the windows, keep it out!
Closing, closing, closed.
The pane that separates gradually expands...
into an almost hollow home.

But silence? No! It never occured.
The noise! It strikes again.
A burden to me, a habit to you,
still surges loyally throughout the room.

And there it is still.
The pane, yes,
but the pain too.

Choking now, spluttering, splattering,
pitter-pattering...raining down.
Ever active, ever there
tapping, tearing, a taunting blare.

The noise! Ripping through my ears.
Not how things should be.
Just one more second and I might just...
*breathe

And then finally, just the breathing,
just my breathing.
My breathing room.
